Samsung Unveils Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 in Kenya

Samsung Electronics East Africa has launched the new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 in Kenya, bringing advanced health tracking, AI-powered wellness insights and improved battery performance to consumers seeking smarter tools for managing their daily routines.

The new smartwatches are designed to provide deeper health insights while supporting continuous wear through enhanced comfort, durability and performance.

AI-powered health tracking

At the centre of the new smartwatch experience is an upgraded Samsung Health app, which acts as an AI-powered health companion by combining data captured throughout the day and night.

The platform provides personalised insights into physical activity, sleep quality and recovery, helping users better understand their health patterns and make informed decisions about their daily routines.

New features include Energy Score, which helps users assess their readiness for the day, and Daily Cardio Load, designed to guide workout intensity and recovery.

The updated Vitals feature also monitors overnight bio-signals against a user’s baseline, enabling more proactive health management directly from the wrist.

Faster performance and longer battery life

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 are powered by a new 3nm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor with dedicated on-device AI capabilities.

Samsung says the processor delivers faster performance while improving power efficiency, allowing users to access AI-powered features with reduced energy consumption.

The Galaxy Watch9 has also received battery upgrades. The 40mm model comes with a 390mAh battery, while the 44mm version features a 445mAh battery.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is equipped with an 800mAh battery, designed to provide multi-day endurance for users with demanding lifestyles.

Built for active lifestyles

Samsung has positioned the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 as its premium option for users looking for durability and extended performance.

The 47mm model features a titanium construction and an IP69K rating, making it suited to users who engage in outdoor activities and demanding workouts.

The devices are designed to support a range of activities, from running and fitness training to sleep monitoring and everyday productivity.

“At Samsung, our priority is to build technology that seamlessly adapts to the active lifestyles of our consumers across East Africa,” said Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

He said the new smartwatches combine wellness intelligence, durability and style to serve consumers across different aspects of their daily lives.

60-day Strava trial for Kenyan runners

Samsung is also targeting Kenya’s growing running and fitness community through a complimentary 60-day Strava trial for buyers of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9.

Through the offer, users can log performance data, discover running trails and share their achievements through Strava.

Samsung said the partnership gives Kenyan runners access to a global fitness network of more than 195 million active members, further integrating fitness tracking into the Galaxy ecosystem.

Warranty and care features

Samsung is also simplifying device management for users running One UI 9 on compatible Galaxy smartphones.

A new Warranty and Care menu allows users to access real-time self-diagnostics and check warranty status directly through their device settings.

The feature is intended to make it easier for users to monitor device health and access support information.

Galaxy Watch9 and Ultra2 prices in Kenya

The new smartwatches are available through authorised Samsung stores across Kenya.

The Galaxy Watch9 40mm is priced at KES 42,200 and comes in Cream and Graphite, while the 44mm Galaxy Watch9 costs KES 46,000 and is available in Graphite and Silver.

The premium 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is priced at KES 79,600, with buyers able to choose between Titanium Silver and Titanium Grey.

With the launch, Samsung is expanding its connected AI ecosystem in East Africa, positioning the latest Galaxy watches as devices that combine health monitoring, fitness, productivity and everyday convenience.
