Samsung Refrigerators Help Households Preserve Freshness

Samsung is highlighting the role of refrigerator technology in helping households maintain food freshness, organise groceries and support healthier eating habits through proper food storage.

Fresh fruits, vegetables and other perishable ingredients can lose their quality when stored under unsuitable conditions. Maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity levels helps preserve their texture, flavour and overall quality while reducing the likelihood of food going to waste.

Selected Samsung refrigerator models feature Twin Cooling Plus™, a technology that uses independent cooling systems for the refrigerator and freezer compartments. The system is designed to maintain suitable storage conditions in each compartment while minimising the transfer of odours between them.

Unlike conventional cooling systems that may circulate air between the two compartments, Twin Cooling Plus™ uses separate evaporators and fans to cool them independently. This helps create conditions suited to different food storage needs, including maintaining moisture in fresh produce and keeping frozen foods consistently cold.

According to Samsung, selected models can maintain approximately 70 per cent humidity in the refrigerator compartment, compared with around 30 per cent in a conventional top-mount freezer model used for comparison. The higher humidity level is designed to help fresh ingredients retain moisture and remain appealing for longer.

The technology is part of Samsung’s broader refrigerator range, which includes Side-by-Side, Top Freezer, Bottom Freezer and One Door models. The different configurations cater to varying household sizes, kitchen layouts and grocery storage requirements.

Beyond cooling technology, Samsung emphasises the importance of proper food-handling practices in preserving ingredients. Organising groceries according to their storage requirements, keeping perishable foods at appropriate temperatures and regularly checking stored items can help households maintain food quality.

An organised refrigerator can also make meal planning easier by keeping ingredients visible and helping families identify foods that should be used first. This may reduce unnecessary purchases and limit the amount of food discarded.

Accessible fresh ingredients can further encourage home cooking, making it easier to incorporate vegetables, fruits and other nutritious foods into everyday meals.

While refrigeration alone does not determine nutritional value, suitable storage conditions can help preserve ingredients until they are ready for consumption.

By combining independent cooling technology with practical storage options, Samsung aims to help households manage groceries more efficiently, preserve food freshness and reduce avoidable waste as part of everyday kitchen routines.
