Samsung Introduces Galaxy Tab S12 Series in Kenya

2 Mins read

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series in Kenya, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ with a focus on productivity, artificial intelligence and sustained performance.

The new tablets combine slim designs with powerful processors, long-lasting batteries, large displays and Galaxy AI features aimed at helping users manage demanding work, learning and creative tasks from virtually anywhere.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures just 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab to date. Despite its slim profile, the company says the device delivers its most powerful tablet performance yet, making it suitable for intensive activities such as video editing, graphic design and multitasking.

Samsung Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business, Jay Kim, said the new series is designed for users who are constantly developing skills, exploring ideas and pursuing their ambitions.

“Built with industry-leading hardware, the Galaxy Tab S12 series pairs an expansive screen with the power of Galaxy AI — removing friction from complex tasks so users can stay focused on achieving impactful results,” Kim said.

Battery life is another key feature of the new tablets. Samsung says the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra can provide up to 23 hours of use on a single charge, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ offers up to 21 hours. Both devices support 45W charging, with the battery reaching full capacity from zero in about 95 minutes.

Performance is powered by a new 3nm processor, which Samsung says delivers up to 61 per cent faster NPU processing, 19 per cent faster CPU performance and 17 per cent improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber is also included to manage heat during demanding workloads, while IP68 water and dust resistance provides additional protection.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch screen. Both displays can reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness and feature Vision Booster technology that automatically adjusts brightness according to surrounding lighting conditions.

The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and incorporate Galaxy AI features designed to support research, note-taking and content creation. Users can divide the display into three sections using Multi Window, allowing them to run different tasks simultaneously.

The bundled S Pen further supports note-taking, annotations and drawing, while Note Assist can summarise notes. Samsung is also offering optional accessories including the Pro Keyboard, which features a dedicated Galaxy AI Key, and the Book Cover Keyboard Slim.

The devices also come with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, giving users access to advanced AI tools. Gemini Notebook allows users to combine notes, images, recordings and files to generate summaries, podcasts and quizzes.

For creative professionals, Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, marking what Samsung describes as a first for Android tablets. Users will also receive four months of free access to the Photoshop mobile plan.

Other bundled software benefits include trials and discounts for Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion and Clip Studio Paint.

In Kenya, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will retail at KES 203,200 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB version will cost KES 230,300.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ will cost KES 176,000 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and KES 203,200 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB configuration.

Samsung says both models will receive up to seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates, while Samsung Care+ will provide additional protection, including accidental damage repairs, extended warranty and expert support.
