Naivas Launches ‘Naivas Ni Kwetu’ Campaign to Celebrate Kenyan Communities

Naivas Supermarkets has launched a new brand campaign dubbed ‘Naivas Ni Kwetu’, celebrating the Kenyan families, communities, employees, suppliers and local businesses that have contributed to the retailer’s growth over the past 36 years.

The campaign was officially unveiled at Greenspan Mall in Nairobi on Saturday, with Naivas positioning the initiative as a celebration of its deep roots in Kenyan communities and its longstanding relationships with the people it serves.

Campaign highlights Naivas’ Kenyan roots

Naivas said ‘Naivas Ni Kwetu’ reflects its belief that the retailer’s success is built around connections between farmers, manufacturers, artisans, SMEs, employees, suppliers and consumers.

The supermarket chain has grown alongside Kenyan communities since its establishment, expanding its footprint to more than 110 stores across the country.

The campaign seeks to reinforce Naivas’ position as a neighbourhood retailer while highlighting its commitment to providing customers with Fresh, Quality, Choice and Value – Bei Poa.

According to the retailer, the campaign is also a statement of its identity as a proudly Kenyan brand that remains closely connected to the communities where it operates.

Focus on local businesses and livelihoods

Beyond its retail operations, Naivas said the campaign recognises the contribution of the wider ecosystem behind the products available on its shelves.

Farmers, manufacturers, artisans, entrepreneurs, distributors and employees all play a role in getting products to consumers, creating opportunities for local enterprises and supporting livelihoods.

Naivas said strengthening these partnerships remains an important part of its contribution to local enterprise, employment creation and sustainable economic growth.

The retailer also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Kenyan producers, manufacturers and SMEs as it continues to expand its operations.

Family Fun Day brings communities together

The launch at Greenspan Mall was accompanied by the Naivas Family Fun Day, which brought together customers, employees and their families for entertainment, celebration and community engagement.

The event was designed to demonstrate Naivas’ view that retail extends beyond the act of shopping to include the relationships it builds with customers and the communities around its stores.

Supplier Showcase celebrates business partners

Running alongside the Family Fun Day was the Supplier Showcase, which brought attention to the role played by Naivas’ supplier partners in delivering products to consumers.

The showcase highlighted innovation, quality and collaboration among suppliers, manufacturers and the retailer.

Naivas said these partnerships are critical to ensuring customers continue to access fresh products, a wide selection and competitive value across its stores.

Naivas pledges to grow with Kenyan communities

Speaking during the launch, Naivas Chief Commercial Officer Jorsen Patten said the campaign reflects the people and partnerships behind the retailer’s journey.

“Naivas Ni Kwetu reflects the heart of our business. It is a celebration of the people who have built this company together, our customers, employees, farmers, suppliers and communities,” Patten said.

He added that Naivas has grown alongside Kenya for 36 years and would continue serving Kenyan families while strengthening the partnerships that support its operations.

Retailer looks to deepen community impact

As it looks ahead, Naivas said it will continue investing in Kenyan communities, supporting local enterprises and creating experiences that bring people together.

The retailer said its growth strategy will remain anchored on delivering Fresh. Quality. Choice. Value – Bei Poa, while maintaining strong relationships with the families and communities that have supported its expansion.

For Naivas, ‘Naivas Ni Kwetu’ is ultimately positioned as more than a marketing campaign. The retailer describes it as a celebration of belonging, partnership and Kenya, reflecting its ambition to continue growing alongside the communities it serves.
