Airtel Money Launches Bizna Wallet to Boost Financial Management for Small Businesses

1 Mins read

Airtel Money Kenya has introduced Bizna Wallet, a new digital business wallet aimed at helping small and micro enterprises separate personal and business finances while improving cash flow management and access to secure digital payment services.

The platform targets entrepreneurs including kiosk operators, market traders, boda boda riders, matatu operators and other informal businesses that often rely on personal mobile money wallets for daily transactions.

Speaking during the launch, Airtel Money Kenya Acting Managing Director Michael Bonke said the new solution has been developed to address the practical financial challenges faced by Kenya’s growing small business sector.

He noted that many entrepreneurs struggle to track business income when it is mixed with personal finances, making it difficult to monitor sales and manage operations effectively.

With Bizna Wallet, users can receive payments from different mobile money networks, monitor daily sales, access mini statements and safeguard business payments from unauthorized reversals. The platform is designed to give business owners greater visibility over their finances while promoting more stable and efficient operations.

The launch comes as digital payments continue to gain momentum among Kenyan SMEs. According to the Mastercard SME Confidence Index, 95 percent of small businesses now accept mobile payments, highlighting the increasing demand for digital financial solutions that offer more than just payment collection.

In addition to unveiling Bizna Wallet, Airtel Money has expanded its Rudishiwa cashback programme to reward both businesses and individual customers. Eligible users will receive a 50 percent cashback on qualifying transactions, including paybill payments, money transfers to other mobile money networks, transfers between bank accounts and Airtel Money wallets, and wallet-to-bank transactions.

Bonke said the company is investing in innovative products that make financial services simpler, more secure and more rewarding as Kenya’s digital economy continues to evolve. Unlike previous airtime rewards, the new cashback is credited as cash into a dedicated Cashback Wallet, allowing customers to transfer the funds to their main Airtel Money wallet for future use.

The cashback offer is available automatically to all registered Airtel Money customers making qualifying transactions of KES 101 or more, with rewards credited instantly through both the My Airtel App and *USSD (334#) platforms.
