Vivo Energy Kenya through its Shell Club loyalty programme has cleared outstanding medical bills for new mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital as part of this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations.
The initiative, held on May 8, 2026, aimed at supporting mothers and easing the financial burden faced by families after childbirth.
According to the company, the programme aligns with this year’s Mother’s Day theme, “The Great Unburdening,” which focuses on reducing the emotional, social, and financial pressures faced by mothers.
Vivo Energy Kenya Highlights Commitment to Care
Speaking during the initiative, Peter Murungi said the theme resonates strongly with the company’s core value of caring and compassion towards communities.
“Motherhood is one of life’s most important journeys, and this Mother’s Day, we wanted to celebrate mothers in a meaningful and impactful way. Through Kameivana Na Shell Club, we are proud to stand with families at Pumwani Maternity Hospital by easing some of the financial burden and sharing in their joy,” said Murungi.
He noted that the initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting communities while promoting dignity and wellbeing for mothers and families.
Shell Club Expands Social Impact Agenda
The company said Shell Club goes beyond rewarding customers with loyalty points for purchases, adding that the programme also drives social impact initiatives aimed at improving lives across the country.
Vivo Energy Kenya stated that the club will continue investing in health-related initiatives and exploring opportunities that contribute to social and economic progress in communities.
