The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Team has jetted out to Spain this evening for a week-long international football training program
The squad, comprising Kenya’s finest young football talents, was bid farewell at a vibrant dinner hosted last night , where they were urged to seize the opportunity to grow both on and off the pitch.
During the farewell event, Safaricom CEO Dr. Peter Ndegwa spoke to the players, congratulating their commitment and talent.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has made this journey possible, especially our young players who continue to inspire us with their passion and talent. This trip is not just another travel experience; it is an opportunity to learn, to sharpen your skills, and to showcase your abilities on a global stage.
As you embark on this exciting journey to Spain, I wish each one of you a safe trip and a rewarding experience,” said Dr. Ndegwa
The All-Stars will get to do the same hard training that professionals undergo and even partake in these as they will be coached by SD Huesca professionals whom they will also play friendly matches against.
Moreover, there were cultural visits planned and the players also had a chance to watch a thrilling match between SD Huesca and Málaga CF of the Segunda Division besides the game.
Chrispine Odindo, head of the All-Stars Girls team, on behalf of the team, remarked,
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our players to learn, grow, and test themselves against international talent. For us coaches, it is equally important as we get exposure to new training methods that will enrich the local game when we return. I look forward to the exposure, to experiencing football in a different environment, and to learning new coaching methods and techniques that I can bring back home to continue nurturing our young talent.”
On the one hand, Stanley Waswa from Ndura Sports Academy (boys) and on the other hand, Manda Sunira Were from Highland Royals Moi Girls (girls) will be the leaders of the All-Star team.
