RUBiS Energy Kenya has launched state-of-the-art washroom facilities at its Narok Service Station, marking a milestone in traveler-focused infrastructure. The unveiling coincides with World Toilet Day, underscoring RUBiS’ commitment to sanitation, accessibility, and exceptional customer service along Kenya’s major transport and tourist routes.
Strategically located on the Mai Mahiu-Narok highway, a vital link for motorists and a gateway to the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve, the modernized facilities are designed to offer more than basic amenities. They set new benchmarks in hygiene, comfort, and aesthetic appeal, elevating the overall travel experience for both domestic and international travelers.
Olivier Sabrié, CEO for East Africa and Group Managing Director of RUBiS Energy Kenya, described the initiative as part of the company’s vision to make journeys more enjoyable. “At RUBiS, we believe every journey deserves moments of rest and rejuvenation. These modern washrooms are designed to make travel more enjoyable by providing travelers with clean, comfortable, and inspiring spaces to refresh,” he stated.
The washrooms blend functionality with artistic expression. Their exteriors showcase captivating artwork inspired by Kenya’s rich cultural heritage, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the nation’s regions. This integration of local artistry aims to transform the facilities into more than just rest stops, but also cultural landmarks that enrich the traveler’s journey.

The launch at Narok is just the beginning of RUBiS’ broader plan to redefine traveler convenience across Kenya. A similar facility is slated to open soon at RUBiS Kenol along the Nairobi-Nyeri highway, with additional installations planned for other RUBiS stations along major highways. These investments reflect the company’s dedication to providing a seamless and memorable travel experience, from refueling to refreshment.
Launching the initiative on World Toilet Day underscores RUBiS’ alignment with global efforts to improve sanitation and accessibility. The day is recognized worldwide to highlight the importance of clean, safe, and accessible toilets, a message that resonates deeply with RUBiS’ mission to ensure safety and comfort for all travelers.
“By focusing on both hygiene and artistry, we aim to create spaces where travelers can not only refresh physically but also connect emotionally with the local culture,” Sabrié added.
As Kenya continues to attract tourists and expand its road network, RUBiS Energy Kenya’s modern washroom initiative represents a significant step in enhancing the country’s infrastructure. By prioritizing convenience, comfort, and cultural expression, RUBiS is setting new standards for customer experience on the road, ensuring every journey is as memorable as the destination itself.
