NCBA Group is expanding its digital property marketplace, PropertyDuka, into Nakuru and Naivasha as it seeks to connect property buyers, developers and real estate agents while improving access to property financing in Kenya’s regional markets.
The bank recently brought together developers, realtors, real estate agencies and investors from Nakuru and Naivasha for a breakfast engagement aimed at exploring business partnerships, strengthening property transactions and creating new opportunities within the region’s real estate sector.
The engagement highlighted PropertyDuka, described by NCBA as East Africa’s first artificial intelligence-powered digital property marketplace, which connects prospective homeowners and investors with developers and real estate professionals.
The expansion is part of the bank’s strategy to take the platform beyond Nairobi and strengthen its presence across the property value chain by making property discovery, financing and related services more accessible to customers outside the capital.
PropertyDuka has recorded significant growth since its launch, with active users increasing from 4,500 in September to more than 625,000. The platform currently hosts 216 property listings and has generated 148 financial product applications and 95 account opening requests.
The figures point to growing customer interest in accessing financial services alongside property listings, with users also showing demand for property financing, professional advisory services and home set-up solutions.
According to NCBA, the platform is designed to go beyond conventional property advertising by bringing together property discovery, financing and other homeownership services within one digital ecosystem.
The expansion comes against the backdrop of significant housing demand in Nakuru County, where renting remains the dominant form of urban accommodation.
According to the Nakuru County Housing Status Report published in February 2026 by the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), with support from Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya, more than 70 per cent of urban households in the county live in rented homes.
The findings highlight opportunities for developers, property agents and investors to respond to different housing needs, including rental accommodation, homeownership and investment properties.
Speaking during the engagement, Dennis Njau, Group Director, Retail Banking at NCBA Group, said the platform reflects the bank’s commitment to using digital innovation to connect customers with opportunities.
At NCBA, our purpose is to bank on belief and empower ambitions. We understand that owning a home is an important aspiration for many Kenyans, while developers and realtors need to reach the right customers to grow their businesses,” Njau said.
He noted that expanding PropertyDuka into Nakuru and Naivasha would give local developers and real estate agents greater visibility while helping prospective buyers and investors discover properties that match their needs.
Through the marketplace, developers and realtors can showcase available properties, improve their visibility and connect with potential customers. Property seekers, on the other hand, can explore available listings and identify opportunities through the digital platform.
Njau added that access to financing remains an important part of the property ownership journey, noting that NCBA provides financial solutions to support developers, homebuyers and investors.
“Finding the right property is an important first step, but access to appropriate financing can be equally critical in turning that ambition into reality. Through our property financing solutions, we support developers in growing their businesses and help homebuyers and investors pursue their property goals,” he said.
He added that the platform’s growing user numbers and demand for financial products demonstrate the need for an integrated property ecosystem that combines listings, financing, advisory services and homeownership support.
The Nakuru engagement also provided an opportunity for NCBA to strengthen relationships with local property industry players, encourage more developers and real estate agencies to join PropertyDuka and increase the number of properties available to prospective customers.
