Mwalimu National DT SACCO and NCBA Launch Salo Xpress to Modernise Payroll Management

Mwalimu National DT SACCO, in partnership with NCBA, has launched Salo Xpress, a digital payroll management solution designed to simplify salary processing for organisations through enhanced efficiency, convenience and transparency.

The platform was unveiled during an event attended by leaders from the cooperative and banking sectors, including officials from Mwalimu National DT SACCO and NCBA.

Digital platform to streamline payroll operations

Salo Xpress enables organisations to manage payroll processes seamlessly while providing greater control and visibility throughout the salary cycle.

The solution offers organisations features such as real-time tracking of payroll posting status, faster salary processing, access to reconciliation reports, and improved operational efficiency.

By digitising payroll management, the platform seeks to reduce turnaround times, minimise operational challenges and support better decision-making through timely access to information.

Mwalimu National DT SACCO highlights innovation focus

Speaking during the launch, the National Chairman of Mwalimu National DT SACCO said the introduction of Salo Xpress reflects the SACCO’s commitment to developing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of institutions.

“Through strategic partnerships such as the one we have with NCBA Bank Kenya, we continue to develop products that empower institutions to operate more effectively and serve their stakeholders better,” he said.

The SACCO’s Chief Executive Officer added that the solution responds to growing demand for faster, more accurate and transparent payroll systems.

“Salo Xpress is a response to the changing needs of employers and institutions seeking greater speed, accuracy and visibility in payroll administration,” he said.

NCBA reaffirms support for SACCO sector

NCBA Director, Corporate Banking – Liability Business, Sankul Mandavia, said the partnership demonstrates the bank’s commitment to supporting SACCOs through innovative financial and digital solutions.

“At NCBA, our role in the SACCO sector goes beyond providing banking products. We act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, bringing together digital infrastructure, cash management and advisory capabilities to help SACCOs operate more efficiently,” said Mandavia.

He noted that NCBA currently banks seven of the top 10 largest SACCOs in Kenya, highlighting the institution’s experience in providing tailored solutions to the cooperative sector.

Partnership strengthens digital transformation agenda

The launch of Salo Xpress marks another milestone in the partnership between Mwalimu National DT SACCO and NCBA, with both institutions focusing on customer-centred solutions and digital transformation.

As organisations increasingly seek reliable payroll systems, Salo Xpress is positioned as a modern platform that combines speed, accuracy and convenience, allowing employers to manage salaries efficiently while focusing on their core operations.
