Huawei has introduced a series of F5G-A products and solutions aimed at advancing industrial intelligence across Sub-Saharan Africa. This announcement took place at the Huawei Global Optical Summit in Johannesburg last week, under the theme “F5G-A (F5G Advanced), the Foundation for Industrial Intelligence.” The event saw attendance from over 300 industry customers and partners from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and other countries.

The summit also featured the launch of the OptiX Club member recruitment event in the region. Li Chen, Vice President of the Sub-Saharan Region at Huawei, emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting digital and intelligent transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa during his opening speech.

Gavin Gu, President of Huawei’s Enterprise Optical Network Domain, highlighted three new trends in industrial intelligence during his presentation titled “F5G-A, the Foundation for Industrial Intelligence.” He expressed confidence in achieving win-win cooperation in industrial intelligence through joint efforts with customers and partners.

Huawei introduced several key products and solutions targeting various sectors:

1. FTTO 2.0 Solution: For medium- and large-sized campuses in education, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing industries, the next-generation FTTO 2.0 Solution was launched. Utilizing XGS-PON Pro and Wi-Fi 7 technologies, this solution upgrades bandwidth, networking, experience, and O&M, achieving 12.5/25G to rooms and 2.5/10G to APs and desks, creating a green 10 Gbps all-optical campus.

2. Huawei OptiXtrans E6600 : For energy and transportation production networks, Huawei launched the OptiXtrans E6600, the industry’s first optical transmission product supporting the fine grain OTN (fgOTN) standard. This product aims to help customers build highly reliable communication networks in the intelligent era. Huawei also released an fgOTN Technical White Paper detailing the standard series, key technologies, application scenarios, and future prospects.

3. Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 Pro: For data center interconnect (DCI) scenarios, Huawei introduced the next-generation DCI platform, the OptiXtrans DC908 Pro. This platform supports Tbps per wavelength to ensure efficient, highly secure, and highly reliable transmission of services between data centers.
