The Law society of Kenya , through it’s President Faith Othiambo has called for a thorough probe into the death of blogger Albert Ojwang who died under mysterious circumstances in the hands of police officers at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.

Albert Ojwang was reportedly arrested by police officers in Homa Bay County on Saturday afternoon. The police said they were probing him over a post he made on his X account.

Albert was a teacher who arrested from hands of his father, hoping to get his son on Sunday live and peaceful

According to his family they arrived at central police station Sunday morning to follow up on the case, only to be informed of his death.

In a statement the National Police Service confirmed that Albert Omondi was lawfully arrested by the police but sustained injuries after hitting his head on the cell wall. The statement further says upon noticing the injuries, officers on duty rushed Omondi to Mbagathi hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The family has however dismissed this information saying the claims by police are not consistent with injuries on Omondi’s body.
