Absa Bank Kenya PLC has unveiled a dynamic new initiative aimed at accelerating card usage and deepening customer engagement through digital payments.

The three-month campaign, dubbed “Play Your Cards Right,” is designed to encourage both existing and new customers to embrace cashless transactions using the Absa Debit and Credit cards in their day-to-day purchases while standing a chance to win exciting prizes.

Speaking during the launch, Absa Bank Kenya’s Head of Cards and Payments, Linda Kimani, said the initiative is part of Absa’s broader strategy to entrench a cashless economy while giving back to loyal customers.

“The Play Your Cards Right campaign is designed as a customer rewards initiative encouraging Absa Debit and Credit card holders to embrace card usage while making daily transactions meaningful, fun and rewarding.

We built this campaign on the foundation that Absa Bank continues to innovate around our customers’ needs and lifestyles and that we remain a Bank that is customer-first, digitally led and attuned to the evolving needs of every customer,” said Kimani.

Through the campaign, customers are encouraged to simply swipe, tap or shop online with their Absa cards to automatically enter into the draw for a chance to win a weekly cash prize of Ksh. 100,000 for three winners or Ksh. 1 million for one winner each month for the three months’ period.

“Over the years, Absa Bank has strengthened its digital payments through investment in secure, fast, convenient and digital-first card solutions. We would like to reinforce our belief that banking should not be complicated, but should be convenient, versatile, reliable, fun and secure, which are what cards offer,” added Ms. Kimani.

The campaign reflects the Bank’s financial inclusion agenda entrenched in Absa’s sustainability strategy that encourages customers to transact efficiently and conveniently while offering more security, convenience and trust.
