Zoho doubles down on EA as Kenya becomes second-fastest growing market

Zoho is making waves in East Africa, and this year’s Zoholics Kenya proved it. Drawing over 1,000 attendees, the Nairobi gathering became the largest Zoho event in the Middle East and Africa, and the third biggest globally outside the U.S. and India.

The momentum is built not on hype, but on steady, methodical growth and deep local investment.

Kenya’s growth story

Since 2020, Zoho’s presence in Kenya has expanded tenfold. In 2024 alone, business in the country surged 39 per cent, with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) leading adoption, and large organisations increasingly joining in. Kenya now stands as Zoho’s second-fastest-growing market in the region, trailing only the UAE. Over the past year, more than a dozen large enterprise tenders have gone to Zoho, signalling growing corporate trust.

Localised pricing and accessibility

A key factor behind this growth is Zoho’s pragmatic approach. Pricing is anchored in the Kenyan shilling, eliminating currency risk for local businesses. The company also offers free product trials, no-cost onboarding, Swahili-speaking customer support, and region-specific integrations. Today, SMEs make up 60% of Zoho’s Kenyan user base, but enterprise adoption is on a steady rise

Retention and user confidence

Zoho’s Kenyan operations boast a low 2.4 per cent monthly churn rate, below global averages, with users typically staying 3.5 to 4 years. The company credits this retention to transparent pricing, structured onboarding, and robust local support.

AI that respects privacy

Unlike many SaaS competitors, Zoho’s AI assistant, Zia, is integrated directly into its suite of over 45 apps — from CRM to HR tools — without extra charges. Crucially, the company does not train its AI models on customer data, relying solely on publicly available information.

The AI is designed to streamline everyday functions, such as automating sales follow-ups, generating insights from reports, and powering customer support bots, all within Zoho’s secure ecosystem.
