As disinformation and political interference increasingly threaten scientific progress.  Global climate media platform We Don’t Have Time has launched a bold initiative to restore science to its rightful place at the center of global decision-making. The campaign, titled “Make Science Great Again”, was unveiled during ChangeNOW 2025 in Paris and is now rallying support ahead of Climate Week NYC this September.

“When truth becomes a threat, science becomes resistance. ”This is the message driving this campaign. It’s aimed at defending scientists under attack. Amplifying evidence-based solutions, and countering denial and misinformation with credible knowledge.

A Global Push to Reclaim the Power of Science

However, more than just a slogan, Make Science Great Again is a call to arms in the fight for truth, justice, and climate resilience. With over 12,000 accredited journalists, 200 million people reached through social media, and a growing global broadcast nnetwork. Additionally,  We Don’t Have Time is leveraging its position as the world’s largest media platform for climate solutions to give science the voice it desperately needs.

A Pan-African Voice in the Global Fight

Patrick Kiarie, a representative of We Don’t Have Time Africa, emphasized the campaign’s urgency and relevance across the continent.

“Science is the backbone of informed decision-making, from tackling the climate crisis to guiding innovations that lift communities out of poverty,” Kiarie stated. “Across Africa, we face urgent challenges that demand evidence-based solutions. Our scientists are often underfunded, unheard, or politicized. By making science great again, we are safeguarding our future.”

He called for greater respect for scientific voices in African policy-making, education, and public debate. Citizens urged to advocate for a culture that prioritizes sustainability and truth.

The Mission: Raise €1 Million and Build Global Broadcast Hubs

The immediate goal of the campaign is to raise €1 million to build a new TV studio in Manhattan for Climate Week NYC in September. This hub will be digitally connected to the group’s European broadcast center in Stockholm. Therefore,  creating a seamless platform for scientists to speak freely, beyond politics and borders.

From New York, the campaign will roll into the next UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil. The team will host broadcasts from inside the diplomatic zone, also amplifying climate science and solutions live from the frontlines of negotiations.

Four Pillars of Action

The Make Science Great Again campaign outlines a clear, four-part strategy:

  • Defend scientists under attack – By spotlighting endangered research facilities like the Mauna Loa CO₂ Observatory. The campaign aims to galvanize support before vital data streams are lost
  • Amplify successful science – Sharing breakthroughs like the role of super pollutants that could cool the planet by 0.5°C. The campaign spreads hope and action.
  • Engage leaders in science-based dialogue – The platform has already driven action, including Sweden’s largest pension fund divesting from fossil fuels after participating in a We Don’t Have Time interview.
  • Host weekly science briefings – Inspired by the COVID-era updates, trusted experts will regularly report on planetary health, innovations, and urgent alerts.
Support Through Donations and Volunteering

In addition, supporters can contribute financially or volunteer their time. Donors receive recognition through the We Don’t Have Time app, while major backers are gifted a limited-edition Make Science Great Again cap, made from 100% recycled materials. Monthly donors from outside Europe will receive caps after the second donation due to shipping costs.

Those willing to invest over €100,000 may also choose to support the mission by investing directly in WeDontHaveTime AB (publ). Ensuring long-term independence and growth.

Join the Resistance for Truth

More than a fundraiser, the campaign is a global call for action. Scientists, developers, communicators, and concerned citizens are encouraged to volunteer just one day a week to support the movement.

“Together, we can prevent a new dark age. where science is replaced by opinion,” the campaign states. “This is our moment to act.”
