Samsung Electronics, a longstanding Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, has announced the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition. This custom-built smartphone will be exclusively provided to nearly 17,000 athletes, including those from Kenya, competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition, the first to feature Galaxy AI, is designed to enhance athletes’ experiences throughout the Games. Pre-loaded with a suite of exclusive services and apps, the device aims to facilitate communication, capture memories, and provide essential information during the event.

Notably, this edition includes unique AI communication features such as live translation for phone calls in 16 languages, an interpreter for real-time conversation translation, and Composer, which helps draft social media posts and emails. Athletes can also utilize Instant Slow-mo for performance analysis and Photo Assist to perfect their shots.
In collaboration with Parisian luxury brand Berluti, Samsung has also introduced an exclusive Flipsuit Case made from Venezia leather, inspired by the Olympic rings. Additionally, the phone will come with 100GB of 5G data, a two-year global warranty, and pre-loaded apps like Athlete 365 and Paris 2024, offering seamless access to schedules and transport information.
For the first time in Olympic history, athletes will be allowed to use their Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition on the podium to capture personal victory selfies, with the images being sorted by sport and uploaded to Athlete365 in real-time. This initiative underscores Samsung’s commitment to enhancing the athlete experience by leveraging cutting-edge technology.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Olympic Edition
The Galaxy Z Flip6 will be available for pre-order in Kenya until July 31, 2024, with the retail price set at Ksh 148,000, while the Galaxy Z Fold6 will retail for Ksh 264,000. Pre-order customers will receive special accessories, including a slim S-pen case for the Fold6 and a flip suite case set for the Flip6.
