This training is part of a broader community engagement strategy following the recent win of Kepher Okoth, a 24-year-old mechanic from Kanga, who took home KES 5 million as the grand prize in the promotion. In addition, he received KES 1 million to support a community project of his choice. Okoth has chosen to renovate Kitere Primary School as part of the initiative.

The Shine Kenya Shinda Mamilii Kama Bingwa promotion has also been instrumental in rewarding Kenyans with cash prizes and facilitating community projects, creating a ripple effect of positive change across the region. Alongside the financial literacy training, Safaricom is planning additional community engagements, including medical camps and support for new mothers, demonstrating their commitment to uplifting local communities.

As Safaricom continues to implement these projects, the focus remains on fostering a culture of financial empowerment and community support, setting a precedent for corporate social responsibility in Kenya.
