Nigerian Artist Guchi expresses gratitude to Kenyan fans during visit

Popular Nigerian singer Ugochi Lydia Onuoha, better known as Guchi, has expressed her deep appreciation for the overwhelming love and support she continues to receive from Kenyan fans. Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi, Guchi highlighted Kenya as one of her strongest fan bases and emphasized the importance of fostering closer connections with her audience.

Accompanied by her management team from Guchi Records, including Chief of Operations Anita Mango and Manager Patrick Weibo, the artist arrived in Kenya to engage with fans and explore collaborative opportunities in the music industry. Anita Mango emphasized the significance of strengthening cultural and professional ties between Nigeria and other African nations, particularly Kenya.

“It is very important for us to explore new territories and build strong relationships with amazing people like our fans in Kenya. The support we’ve received, especially for Guchi’s projects and social media presence, has been phenomenal,” Mango stated.

Guchi’s manager, Patrick Weibo, echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the unwavering support from Kenyan fans. “We receive so much love from Kenya, and it’s always heartwarming to see how much fans here appreciate her music. We are here to connect, enjoy the culture, and build stronger relationships,” he said.

During the briefing, Guchi reflected on her previous visit to Kenya three years ago, acknowledging that while the experience had some challenges, it did not diminish her love for her fans. “The last time I was in Kenya, I faced some difficulties, but I later understood it was not the fault of my fans. I’m here now for them – no mistakes, just love,” she affirmed.

Guchi’s return to Kenya has sparked excitement among her followers, with many taking to social media to suggest activities for her to experience during her stay, including visiting local beaches and riding in matatus – Kenya’s vibrant public transport system.

The visit also shed light on the importance of collaboration in the African music industry. Mawaitha Africa and China Productions, key players in event planning and artist promotion, partnered for Guchi’s trip. Industry expert Mawaitha Africa emphasized the need for teamwork in ensuring the success of artists and events across the continent.

“Not everyone is skilled in every aspect of the industry. Some are good at media, others at logistics or strategy. The key is collaboration. Event organizers, PR agents, promoters, and artists should work together instead of operating in silos,” Mawaitha Africa advised.

Guchi’s visit is expected to strengthen cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Kenya while providing opportunities for future collaborations in the entertainment industry. As she continues to connect with her fans, her presence reaffirms the unbreakable bond between African artists and their audiences across borders.
