Thirty media and PR students have graduated from Newsline Media and Training Agency after completing a three-month intensive attachment program designed to prepare them for the competitive media industry.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Managing Director Faith Muthoni said the program is tailored to provide hands-on experience and expose students to the realities of modern media work.
She noted that the training covers diverse areas such as film production, graphic design, digital marketing, sound production, live streaming, and public relations, ensuring students graduate with practical skills relevant to the current market.
“Our attachment program equips students with the skills they need to thrive beyond the classroom,” Muthoni said. “This is not just about meeting academic requirements, but about gaining practical abilities that open real opportunities in the job market.”
Ben Mbugua, a media lecturer at Multimedia University, commended the initiative for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry demands, saying such programs give graduates a head start by ffamiliarisingthem with the tools, technologies, and workflows used in the media sector.
Media practitioner James Mwangi encouraged the graduates to remain proactive and continue building their skills, noting that the media industry is dynamic and those who keep learning and embrace change will always stand out.
The event concluded with certificate presentations, networking sessions, and celebrations as the graduates prepared to step into the next phase of their professional journeys.
