The NCBA Bank Kenya Managing Director, James Gossip, concluded a three-day leadership engagement at the Coast
NCBA Bank Kenya Managing Director, James Gossip, has been on a three-day leadership engagement tour across the Coast region aimed at deepening partnerships and enriching customer relationships.
The tour that went through Ukunda, Nyali, and Mombasa, was an interaction platform with the customers, partners, and staff by the bank through which it conveyed the promise of the sustainable customer-centric expansion in one of the vibrant economic zones of Kenya.
The coastal region of Kenya is still a vital economic hub that injects a hefty sum of foreign exchange into the economy through the tourism industry, maritime trade, and logistics.
Based on the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics report on Gross County Product (GCP), Mombasa County alone contributes 4.8 percent to the national gross value added, hence being ranked among the top four county economies.
The tourism industry in the area accounts for about 45 percent of the region’s total activity, while maritime and port operations contribute an additional 15 percent, making the Coast one of the most significant economic changes agents in Kenya.
During the discussions, Mr. Gossip reiterated that NCBA is committed to nurturing impactful partnerships that will elevate customers and communities.
“The Coast region is one of the most vital economic corridors of Kenya, and the main reason we are here is to spark off the creation of impactful partnerships that will lead to the unlocking of customer potential”, he explained. “At NCBA, we think listening – listening to our customers, our communities, and our people – is the first step towards progress so that we can come up with solutions which really make a difference.”
NCBA has been pursuing an aggressive expansion plan that is heavily reliant on both retail and corporate banking. The bank has expanded its branch network to over 100 locations across the country, thereby increasing accessibility in both urban and regional markets.
On the corporate side, NCBA recently introduced NCBA ConnectPlus, an internet-based transaction banking platform geared towards making transaction processing faster
