NCBA Bank has strengthened its engagement with Kenyans living and working in the United Kingdom as it seeks to help the diaspora transform remittances into long-term investments, property ownership and wealth.
The bank recently concluded a multi-city diaspora tour in the UK, bringing its banking, property financing, investment and wealth management solutions closer to Kenyan communities.
The engagement forms part of NCBA’s broader 2026 Diaspora Market Activation Programme, which has also taken the bank to Australia and the United States. In Australia, NCBA engaged Kenyans in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, while its US outreach covered several states.
According to the bank, its diaspora engagements in Australia and the US reached more than 3,000 Kenyans, with discussions largely centred on property financing, investment and wealth management.
The latest UK tour comes at a time when the role of Kenyans abroad in the country’s economy is evolving. Increasingly, diaspora communities are looking beyond supporting families through remittances and are exploring opportunities to acquire property, establish businesses, invest and secure their financial futures.
Speaking following the UK tour, Dennis Njau, Group Director, Retail Banking at NCBA, said the bank is focusing on helping Kenyans abroad convert income earned overseas into lasting financial value in Kenya.
“The diaspora opportunity is evolving. Kenyans abroad are not only supporting families through remittances; they are building businesses, buying property, investing and planning for their financial futures,” Njau said.
Property ownership emerged as a key area of interest during the engagements, with NCBA showcasing financing solutions for customers seeking to purchase land, build homes or undertake construction projects while living overseas.
Through its EasyBuild solution, the bank provides diaspora customers with a structured approach to construction, supported by professionals while enabling them to maintain greater visibility of their projects from abroad.
NCBA also highlighted its investment and wealth management solutions, which are designed to help customers diversify their portfolios, grow and preserve wealth, and pursue long-term financial goals in Kenya.
Digital banking was another major focus, with the bank demonstrating how diaspora customers can access banking services remotely, manage their finances and conduct transactions across borders without having to travel to Kenya.
NCBA’s Diaspora Banking proposition includes accounts, international money transfers, foreign exchange, asset finance, secured lending, insurance and wealth management services.
The UK engagement reinforces NCBA’s commitment to supporting Kenyans abroad to remain financially connected to home while building sustainable wealth and investments.
The initiative is anchored on the bank’s “Banking on Belief, Empowering Ambition” brand promise.
