The National Council of Elders has conveyed deep condolences to the families of the youth who tragically lost their lives during the demonstrations yesterday.

In a heartfelt message, Major John, Chairman of the National Council of Elders, urged President William Ruto to initiate dialogue with the youth and encourage public participation as a means to address the current issues and move forward to save Kenya.

Major John commended President Ruto for his recent remarks in Nyahururu, where he expressed his willingness to engage with the youth of the nation. “We urge the youth to stop demonstrations and give dialogue a chance for reconciliation and the patriotism of this nation,” Major John stated.

Furthermore, the council called on all elders across the country to support the President’s decision on the finance bill and to extend their condolences to the families who have lost loved ones during the unrest.

Major John also appealed to police officers to focus on their duty of restoring peace and security, maintaining law and order in a manner consistent with the constitution.

He emphasized the importance of conducting their work in an orderly manner to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.

The National Council of Elders remains committed to fostering dialogue and unity as the nation navigates through these challenging times.
