M-Shwari has dismissed allegations of fraudulent activity circulating on social media concerning an account held by one Brian Aballah, terming the claims false and misleading.
In a statement, the digital lending and savings platform said it had taken note of the online commentary and promptly reviewed the matter. Following the review, M-Shwari confirmed that its Customer Experience team engaged directly with the customer referenced in the posts and established that the allegations were factually incorrect and inconsistent with the account records.
“M-Shwari therefore respectfully requests that such statements be withdrawn and cease from being circulated,” the platform said.
The firm reaffirmed that it is regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya and is trusted by millions of Kenyans to safeguard their savings. It emphasized its commitment to providing reliable financial services while ensuring the security of customer funds.
M-Shwari further underscored its dedication to transparency and fair, constructive engagement with customers. It encouraged users with concerns about their accounts to contact its support teams directly to review account records or resolve any genuine discrepancies.
MShwari also highlighted its commitment to being transparent and treating customers fairly with a view to building constructive relationships. It invited those who might have doubts about their accounts to get in touch with its customer support team for a review of account statements or to deal with any real inconsistencies.
The platform warned that sharing unsubstantiated information on the internet is dangerous since such statements can erode public confidence in regulated financial services.
