M-Shwari cautions customers on fake loan limit boost scams

1 Mins read

M-Shwari has issued a warning to the public about fraudsters posing as agents who claim they can increase customers’ M-Shwari, Fuliza, or KCB M-Pesa loan limits for a fee.

The lender clarified that loan limits are determined solely by NCBA through an internal process based on borrowing history, repayment consistency, savings habits, and credit record.

Screenshots circulating online show fraudsters advertising “instant limit increases” for charges ranging from KSh 675 to over KSh 10,000, targeting unsuspecting customers in online groups. M-Shwari urged customers to avoid engaging with such offers, stressing that no third party or individual can alter a loan limit.

Customers are advised to contact M-Shwari only through official channels — Safaricom customer care (100/200), NCBA’s numbers (0711056444/0732156444), or the verified M-Shwari Facebook and X accounts.
