LG Electronics has brought its latest laundry innovation closer to Kenyan consumers through public showcases of the LG WashTower at some of Nairobi’s busiest commuter hubs.
The activation at the Sarit Centre Ring Road Roundabout, Kenyatta National Hospital Roundabout and St. Austin’s Roundabout gave motorists, commuters and pedestrians an opportunity to interact with the premium all-in-one laundry appliance and learn about its smart features.
The WashTower combines a washing machine and dryer into a single vertically integrated unit, offering a space-saving alternative to conventional side-by-side laundry appliances.
Its design includes a centrally positioned control panel, allowing users to operate both the washer and dryer from one location. The appliance is powered by LG’s AI Direct Drive technology, which detects fabric weight and softness to optimise washing performance while helping reduce unnecessary wear on clothes.
Designed for Urban Homes
The public activation highlighted the WashTower’s compact footprint, targeting consumers living in modern urban homes where available space can be limited.
According to LG East Africa President Donghun Lee, reducing the space occupied by household appliances can make it easier for consumers to enjoy advanced technology regardless of the size of their homes.
“Modern living spaces, especially in urban areas tend to be compact and it therefore makes sense to reduce the footprint of domestic appliances and equipment,” said Lee.
He added that LG wants customers to enjoy the benefits of its products regardless of the amount of space available to them.
Bringing Innovation Closer to Consumers
The Nairobi showcase forms part of LG’s efforts to take its products beyond conventional retail environments and allow consumers to experience new technologies firsthand.
Jane Kariuki, Head of Marketing at LG Electronics East Africa, said placing the WashTower in public spaces enabled more Kenyans to interact with the appliance before making purchasing decisions.
“We brought the LG WashTower into public spaces to give Kenyans the opportunity to experience its thoughtful design and smart features firsthand,” said Kariuki.
During the activation, LG representatives engaged members of the public, demonstrating the WashTower’s AI-powered laundry capabilities and features focused on efficiency and garment care.
The company says the initiative is intended to make premium home technology more accessible while helping consumers understand how smart appliances can simplify everyday household tasks.
