LG Electronics (LG) has announced plans to train 37,000 individuals worldwide in 2024 through its Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Academy. This ambitious initiative aims to create a robust network of skilled installation and service engineers capable of maintaining and optimizing LG’s advanced HVAC systems as the brand’s global popularity continues to soar.‌

Operating in 62 locations, the LG HVAC Academy provides comprehensive training for residential and commercial HVAC systems, including high-efficiency chillers. The program equips technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver superior customer experiences by ensuring the optimal setup and maintenance of LG’s innovative air solutions.

“The LG HVAC Academy plays a key role in enhancing the capabilities of engineers in each region. We will continue to increase customer engagement to deliver more value and drive our global HVAC business forward,” said James Lee, head of the Air Solution Business Unit at LG Electronics Home Appliance and Air Solution Company.

In Kenya, the LG HVAC Academy operates in partnership with the University of Nairobi. This collaboration aims to elevate the skills of local technicians, equipping them to manage the sophisticated needs of LG’s advanced HVAC solutions. The Nairobi academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including integrated showrooms and training rooms that provide hands-on learning experiences.

The program in Kenya includes:

Product installation and maintenance training.

Introductions to LG’s latest HVAC solutions.

Specialized regional training programs, technical forums, and on-site classes tailored to client needs.

This strategic initiative not only enhances local technical expertise but also positions LG as a key player in shaping Kenya’s HVAC industry standards.

LG’s training initiative comes as the global HVAC market continues to grow, with an estimated value of $58.4 billion in 2023. The company aims to capitalize on emerging trends, including the rising demand for high-efficiency cooling systems in AI data centers and semiconductor plants, where heat management is critical for maintaining operational efficiency.

LG is also advancing its high-efficiency heat pump HVAC systems to align with electrification and environmental trends. These systems cater to increasing consumer and business needs for sustainable and cost-effective cooling and heating solutions.

Looking to the future, LG has set an ambitious goal to more than double its revenue from residential and commercial HVAC systems by 2030. The company aims to reinforce its position as a global leader in air conditioning by delivering high-performance, environmentally friendly solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses and households alike.

With its 2024 training program and innovative HVAC technologies, LG is not just meeting market demands but also shaping the future of air solutions. By equipping a global network of skilled technicians, LG is ensuring that its products remain synonymous with quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
