Kenya Airway and TUI Relaunch KQ Holidays Travel Booking Platform

2 Mins read

Kenya Airways has partnered with TUI Airline Holidays, part of the global TUI Group, to relaunch KQ Holidays, a platform designed to offer travellers seamless end-to-end holiday booking experiences while promoting Kenya as a year-round tourism destination.

The revamped platform combines Kenya Airways’ extensive global flight network with TUI’s expertise in curated holiday solutions, enabling travellers to book flights, accommodation, transfers and local experiences in one coordinated package.

Seamless End-to-End Travel Experience

KQ Holidays aims to simplify travel planning by offering tailor-made packages that include flights, premium hotel stays, transfers and authentic local experiences. The platform is powered by TUI Airline Holidays’ white-label technology, allowing real-time inventory management and personalised travel options.

Travellers will also have the flexibility to book services individually or bundle them into dynamic packages depending on their preferences.

Boosting Kenya’s Tourism Appeal

The initiative is designed to position Kenya as a vibrant leisure destination throughout the year by offering curated travel experiences that highlight the country’s culture, wildlife and natural attractions.

The platform also emphasises sustainable tourism by promoting authentic local engagement and supporting community-based tourism activities that benefit local economies.

Stopover Tourism Through Nairobi

A key feature of the platform allows travellers connecting through Nairobi to incorporate short stopovers in Kenya as part of a broader itinerary.

Passengers transiting through the hub can add a short stay to explore the country’s diverse attractions before continuing to their final destinations, transforming connecting journeys into richer travel experiences.

Leadership Perspectives on the Partnership

Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu said the partnership represents a strategic step toward enhancing customer value beyond air travel.

“The launch of KQ Holidays marks an important milestone in our journey to enhance customer choice and deliver greater value beyond the flight. By partnering with TUI Airline Holidays, we are combining world-class technology with our strong brand and network to offer curated holiday experiences that showcase the best of Kenya and our wider network while supporting sustainable tourism growth,” he said.

Expanding TUI’s Presence in Africa

TUI’s Head of Specialist Businesses Danyal Kaya said the partnership marks an important expansion of the company’s services into the African market.

“We are delighted to expand our expertise into the African market through this partnership with Kenya Airways. By leveraging our technology platform and travel knowledge, Kenya Airways will be able to drive additional revenue, offer distinctive experiences and broaden its customer base,” he said.

Supporting Sustainable Tourism Growth

Through the relaunch of KQ Holidays, travellers can now experience Kenya in a more personalised and seamless way while supporting the growth of sustainable tourism and contributing to the local economy.
