Kenya Airways is the innovative creator of KQSafari Data, a new global mobile connectivity product that allows users to have uninterrupted and less expensive mobile connectivity when they are around the world.
This new product, launched with the help of RoamBuddy, was confirmed by Kenya Airways’ Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Julius Thairu, and RoamBuddy Chief Executive Officer, Mandeep Birdi.
The KQSafari Data concept, which was the winning idea of the Kenya Airways Open Innovation Challenge and was developed through the airline’s Fahari Innovation Hub, simply eliminates one of the biggest problems with traveling, that is, the high roaming charges.
The company has over 2,250 roaming plans in more than 180 countries, offering alternatives of Country, Regional, or Global use at very low prices compared to the traditional ones.
“It is not just the flight that our passengers deserve but also a connected journey that is seamless, affordable, and stress-free,” said Thairu. “KQSafari Data is definitely the way forward as it allows travelers to keep in touch with their families and businesses around the world without any worries that they will be charged high roaming rates. This is indeed a customer-first innovation that enhances the entire travel experience.”
Birdi also welcomed the supporting partner as a milestone in redefining connectivity for international travelers. “The partnership with Kenya Airways is a real-life example of how innovation can bring about practical solutions. Together, we are guaranteeing convenience, affordability, and peace of mind to customers when they are abroad.”
This initiative, besides its launch functions, is a clear reminder to Kenya Airways’ dedication to innovation, customer-centricity, and value creation, as well as a significant change in the Fahari Innovation Hub role in turning Africa and beyond the continent center for bold idea-based travel solution.
