Five people were killed and six others injured in a deadly attack at Kilepoi Village, Samburu County, in the early hours of Tuesday. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

According to reports, unknown assailants raided the village, unleashing terror on residents before fleeing with herds of cattle. The attack left a trail of destruction, with families mourning their loved ones and others nursing injuries.

Residents are now calling on the government to bolster security in the region to prevent further loss of lives and property. They expressed fear that recurring attacks were making the area unsafe, with cattle rustling and armed invasions becoming increasingly frequent.

“We live in constant fear. The government must act now to protect us from these ruthless attackers,” one distraught resident told reporters.

Authorities have since launched investigations into the incident and deployed security personnel to track down the perpetrators. Samburu County police confirmed that efforts were underway to recover the stolen livestock and bring the attackers to justice.

The region has long been plagued by insecurity, with banditry and cattle rustling posing major threats to residents. Leaders and community members are now urging the government to establish permanent security posts and enhance surveillance to curb such violent incidents.
