The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) has officially launched the 6th Engineering Partnerships Convention (EPC) 2025, an influential gathering aimed at propelling the nation’s engineering sector into the digital age. The event, expected to attract over 1,500 delegates, will be held from May 7th to 9th, 2025, at The Edge Convention Centre, Nairobi County, under the theme “Engineering a Digital World.”
Speaking during the launch, EBK Chairperson Eng. Erastus Mwongera sounded a warning that Kenya risks falling behind in the global digital economy unless decisive measures are taken to modernize regulation and professional practices in the engineering field.
“While we have made commendable strides in infrastructure development, critical disparities remain. These gaps threaten our competitiveness on the global stage, especially as digital transformation accelerates worldwide,” Eng. Mwongera said.
The EPC 2025 will bring together engineers, policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and students to explore innovations, best practices, and policy frameworks needed to drive Kenya’s digital transformation through science, technology, and engineering.
Eng. Mwongera also emphasized the importance of media engagement, noting that the media’s participation is crucial in amplifying the pivotal role engineering plays in shaping Kenya’s digital and economic future.
With the world rapidly advancing toward digital economies, the convention offers a timely platform for thought leadership and collaboration, ensuring Kenya’s engineers are not just participants but leaders in crafting a tech-driven future.
