Eng. Jackson Karubiu Magondu Appointed KeRRA Director General
The Board of Directors of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has appointed Eng. Jackson Karubiu Magondu as the new Director General, effective February 17, 2026.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Authority said the appointment follows a competitive and rigorous recruitment process conducted by the Board. Eng. Magondu will serve a three-year term, renewable once.
Eng. Magondu is a seasoned professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in the roads and infrastructure sector. He brings more than 24 years of post-registration experience in highway and road engineering, having held various leadership roles throughout his career.
The Board noted that he has demonstrated strong strategic leadership and institutional capacity in advancing the construction and development of rural roads across the country.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Infrastructure Management from Yokohama National University, Japan, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from University of Nairobi. He has also undertaken several executive and senior management courses.
Eng. Magondu is a registered engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom.
The Board congratulated Eng. Magondu on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the Authority into a new chapter focused on strengthening rural road infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across devolved units.
KeRRA plays a critical role in the development, rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads, supporting economic growth and improving access to essential services across Kenya.
