Dismus Mukua emerged as the overall winner of this year’s Kenya Air Force Golf Club Championship (KAFGC) final held at Moi Air Base in Eastleigh, Nairobi, capping off a fiercely contested tournament.

Mukua Outshines Strong Field

Mukua displayed exceptional skill and consistency to beat the defending champion Major Don Tororei. Fredrick Wagura and Patrick Kinywa finished as second and third runners-up, respectively, underscoring the high level of competition witnessed throughout the championship.

Seven-Month Tournament Draws Wide Participation

The tournament, sponsored by Vivo Energy Kenya, ran for seven months and attracted golfers from various clubs across the country. Participants hailed from notable clubs, including Thika Barracks, Kisii Golf Club, and Ruiru Sports Club, reflecting the event’s growing national appeal.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Vivo Energy Kenya’s Commercial Manager, Mark Senteu, emphasized the company’s commitment to community engagement and sports development.

Winners Across Categories Recognised

In other categories, Dr. Ayub Shitesewa clinched the guest category title, defeating Martin Kiambi and Joel Muchanga. Anita Nyaguto was named the junior winner, while Brigadier Wesonga secured the senior title.

Captain Joy Njangi emerged as the Ladies’ champion, with Major Wafula Bwire winning the Men’s category. Harun Wanyama was crowned the gross winner.
