In a true celebration of the festive season, Rockey Africa Foundation, in collaboration with Jabali Joycare, brought smiles, laughter, and cherished memories to over 100 elderly residents of Thika. The event, held at the scenic Thika Greens Golf Course, was a heartfelt tribute to the wisdom and legacy of senior citizens, combining health, entertainment, and community spirit into an unforgettable day.
The Elderly’s Day Out was more than just an event; it was a beacon of love and gratitude. Participants received free health checkups and wellness packages, engaged in light exercise, and enjoyed captivating storytelling sessions alongside traditional music performances. A communal lunch brought everyone together, cementing the day’s theme of togetherness and joy.
“This Christmas, we wanted to show our elders how much they mean to us,” said Robert Kamau, CEO of Rockey Africa Limited. “Spending time with them was a privilege, and seeing their smiles reminded us of the value they bring to our communities.”
Jabali Joycare, a dedicated organisation specialising in counselling and home-based care, played a pivotal role in the day’s success.
