Safaricom Expands Family Share to Kisumu Home Fibre Customers

Safaricom has expanded its Family Share offering to Home Fibre customers in Kisumu, allowing households to share mobile data or voice minutes with up to five family members under one subscription.

The regional rollout was launched on November 1, 2026, at Lolwe Estate in Kisumu County, following the introduction of the service to Nairobi customers the previous week.

The initiative brings together fixed and mobile connectivity, enabling families to remain connected both at home and while on the move.

Safaricom Chief Consumer Business Officer Fawzia Ali said the expansion was part of the company’s efforts to provide customers with greater convenience

“We officially rolled out our Family Share plan to Home Fibre customers last week, and today, we are delighted to be in Kisumu as we extend the offering to customers in the region. Through Family Share, we are giving our customers more value, greater convenience and flexibility by bringing together fixed and mobile connectivity in one proposition. Our goal is to ensure families stay seamlessly connected, whether at home or on the go,” said Fawzia Ali

Through the Family Share plan, new and existing Safaricom Home Fibre customers can connect up to five family members to share mobile data or voice minutes.

The package combines Home Fibre services with mobile voice, data and SMS benefits, allowing households to manage their connectivity needs through a single bill.

Safaricom said the offering strengthens its Home Fibre value proposition, following recent internet speed upgrades introduced at no additional cost to customers.

Under the new arrangement, customers can subscribe to packages starting at KES 3,749, which provide internet speeds of 40 Mbps alongside either 750 voice minutes or 14GB of mobile data to share with up to five family members.

The company said combining home internet and mobile benefits would give households more flexibility in managing communication expenses while making connectivity costs more predictable.

The expansion to Kisumu marks the first phase of Safaricom’s planned nationwide rollout, extending the benefits beyond Nairobi to customers in other regions.

Customers interested in the service can subscribe to Home Fibre or 4G and 5G Wi-Fi packages through the My OneApp platform, by dialling *400#, or by visiting any Safaricom shop or authorised dealer outlet.

The development adds to Safaricom’s efforts to integrate its fixed and mobile services while expanding digital connectivity options for Kenyan households.
