Mercedes-Benz Sponsors Pink Polo Tournament to Boost Breast Cancer Awareness

2 Mins read

Mercedes-Benz by CFAO Mobility Kenya has partnered with Nairobi Polo Club as the official car sponsor of the Pink Polo Tournament, scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, at the Nairobi Polo Grounds.

The tournament will combine competitive polo with breast cancer awareness activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, bringing together players, supporters and community members to promote early detection, screening and solidarity with people affected by cancer.

CFAO Mobility Kenya Managing Director Arvinder Reel said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that address important community health concerns.

Reel emphasised the importance of paying attention to changes in the body, seeking medical advice and visiting healthcare facilities for professional assessments and accurate diagnosis.

He also encouraged the public to prioritise regular health check-ups and engage in open conversations about their health, noting that awareness initiatives can help promote proactive healthcare practices.

“Through partnerships with like-minded organisations, we can encourage those affected by breast cancer to stay strong and continue being part of the fight,” Reel said.

Nairobi Polo Club Pink Polo Chairman Simon Muchene said this year’s tournament would also raise awareness of other forms of cancer through the Colors of Courage campaign.

According to Muchene, the initiative seeks to encourage screening and early detection while demonstrating solidarity with patients, survivors and their families.

He added that the tournament would provide an opportunity to foster supportive conversations around cancer and remind affected individuals that they are not alone in their journey.

The partnership also signals a broader collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and the Nairobi Polo Club, with the automotive brand set to acquire naming rights for another polo tournament scheduled for January 2027.

Beyond the sporting event, CFAO Mobility Kenya has supported other community-focused initiatives targeting health and safety.

The company recently partnered with other organisations to launch a road safety campaign aimed at promoting responsible road-use behaviour from an early age.

It has also launched the Maji na Ufanisi: Transforming Hand Hygiene for Learners in Kiambu County project, which seeks to improve hygiene, school attendance and learning outcomes in public primary schools.

The Pink Polo sponsorship adds to these community engagement efforts, using sport as a platform to bring people together around health awareness and social responsibility.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed annually in October, with campaigns worldwide encouraging people to understand the disease, seek appropriate medical advice and support those affected.

Through the tournament, organisers hope to strengthen public awareness, promote conversations about cancer screening and encourage greater community participation in supporting patients and survivors.

The event will take place at the Nairobi Polo Grounds over two days, combining sporting competition with a message of courage, awareness and collective support.
