NCBA Opens 100th Branch in Ruiru, Expands Access to Financial Services

1 Mins read

NCBA has reached a major milestone in its expansion strategy with the opening of a new branch at Knord Mall in Ruiru, bringing its total branch network in Kenya to 100.

The new Knord Branch also increases NCBA’s presence in Kiambu County to eight branches, following the opening of its Tatu City Branch last year. The expansion underscores the strategic importance of Kiambu County as the bank seeks to deepen access to financial services and support economic growth in the region.

The Ruiru branch will serve individuals, families, entrepreneurs and businesses with a range of financial solutions, including current and savings accounts, personal and business loans, investment solutions, digital banking services, NCBA Tills, SME solutions and affordable housing financing.

Speaking during the launch, NCBA Kenya Managing Director James Gossip said the 100-branch milestone demonstrates the bank’s commitment to bringing financial services closer to customers while responding to opportunities created by Kenya’s growing economy.

“Reaching the 100-branch milestone reflects the bank’s commitment to bringing our services close to its customers while responding to opportunities presented by Kenya’s growing economy,” said Gossip.

He identified Ruiru as one of Kenya’s high-potential markets, citing its rapid urbanisation, real estate development, growing trade activity, transport sector and expanding small and medium-sized enterprise ecosystem.

Gossip said the new branch would enable NCBA to better serve entrepreneurs, SMEs, homeowners, transport operators, investors and retail customers in Ruiru and neighbouring areas.

The expansion forms part of NCBA’s implementation of its Ubuntu-inspired strategy, “Banking on Belief: Empowering Ambitions,” which aims to provide individuals and businesses with financial tools and solutions to achieve their ambitions and contribute to economic growth.

The bank said the branch network will complement its digital banking ecosystem, giving customers greater flexibility in how they access and manage financial services.

NCBA continues to invest in digital solutions alongside its physical branches, including services that enable customers to transact and access banking products through channels that suit their needs.

The 100-branch milestone comes as Ruiru continues to experience significant economic and population growth, creating increased demand for accessible financial services.

NCBA said its expansion into Ruiru reinforces its commitment to deepening financial inclusion and supporting economic activity by taking relevant, innovative and accessible financial solutions closer to customers across Kenya.
