Samsung Electronics East Africa has launched a new integrated digital classroom solution to help Kenyan schools strengthen technology-enabled learning, improve classroom management, and prepare learners for an increasingly digital economy.
Dubbed Samsung Digital Classroom, the solution brings together Samsung Tablets, Samsung Interactive Boards and Knox for Classrooms into a connected ecosystem designed to support teachers, learners, school administrators and education stakeholders.
The launch comes as Kenya continues to expand the use of technology in education under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and broader digital transformation initiatives, with schools increasingly looking for solutions that extend beyond simply providing devices.
Samsung said the new platform is designed to address some of the challenges associated with managing digital learning environments by combining classroom engagement tools, device management and security in one ecosystem.
At the centre of the solution is the integration between Samsung Tablets and Samsung Interactive Boards. Teachers can use the Interactive Board to present lessons, share content with learners’ tablets, monitor classroom participation, administer quizzes and assessments, and provide immediate feedback through Knox for Classrooms.
The Interactive Display serves as the collaborative centre of the classroom, while tablets allow learners to access digital learning materials, complete assignments and participate in classroom activities.
Through Knox for Classrooms, school administrators can also deploy, monitor and manage devices across multiple classrooms, giving institutions greater visibility and control over their digital learning infrastructure.
Samsung said the solution could support institutions ranging from primary and secondary schools to universities, colleges and technical training centres.
The company said the integrated approach could also help governments, school owners and education institutions implement digital learning programmes more sustainably by allowing technology to be centrally managed and scaled across multiple schools and campuses.
Speaking during the launch, Anthony Njihia, Mobile Experience B2B Manager at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the next phase of Kenya’s digital learning journey should focus on translating technology investments into meaningful classroom outcomes.
“Kenya has made significant progress in advancing digital learning, and the next phase is ensuring that technology delivers impact in the classroom,” Njihia said.
He said Samsung Digital Classroom was designed to create learning environments that are secure, collaborative and easier to manage while enabling teachers to focus on delivering quality education and improving learner outcomes.
Njihia added that education technology should address the needs of the entire learning ecosystem, including policymakers, school administrators, teachers, parents and learners.
According to Samsung, teachers need tools that simplify lesson delivery, assessment and access to digital content, while administrators require greater visibility and control over devices. Parents, meanwhile, need confidence that technology is being used in a structured and education-focused environment.
The company said integrating these functions into a single ecosystem can help schools maximise the value of their investments in education technology while creating more connected learning environments.
Samsung Electronics East Africa said it will continue working with education institutions, government agencies and ecosystem partners to support the adoption of technology that enhances teaching, strengthens digital literacy and equips learners with skills needed in the digital economy.
The launch is part of Samsung’s “The Future of Learning Starts Here” campaign, which seeks to promote conversations around the future of education and demonstrate how connected technology can contribute to smarter, more inclusive and future-ready classrooms in Kenya.
