1 Mins read

The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) has officially changed its name to the Technopolis Development Authority following the enactment of the Technopolis Act, 2026.

In a public notice, the Authority said the change follows Presidential assent to the Technopolis Act, 2026 (No. 13 of 2026) on May 11, 2026, and its subsequent publication in the Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 120 dated May 15, 2026.

The new name takes effect in line with the provisions of the Act, which expands the Authority’s mandate under the new legal framework.

Operations and Stakeholder Agreements Remain Unchanged

The Authority clarified that the name change will not affect its existing obligations, assets, liabilities, operations, or contractual relationships with investors, customers, tenants, partners, and other stakeholders.

It added that all references to Konza Technopolis Development Authority in official documents, correspondence, contracts, and other engagements will henceforth be interpreted to refer to the Technopolis Development Authority.

Authority to Advance Kenya’s Technopolis Ecosystem

The Technopolis Development Authority said it remains committed to delivering its mandate and supporting the growth of Kenya’s technopolis ecosystem.

“The change of name reflects the Authority’s expanded mandate under the new legal framework,” the notice stated.

The Authority’s headquarters and operations remain based at Konza Technopolis along Mombasa Road.

Stakeholders Asked to Take Note of Transition

Chief Executive Officer John Paul Okwiri, OGW, urged stakeholders to take note of the transition and channel any inquiries regarding the change through the Authority’s official communication channels.

The public can access the Technopolis Act through the Authority’s website, while queries on the transition can be directed through the provided official contact.
