LG Electronics has earned multiple internationally recognised eco-certifications for its 2026 television lineup, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability across the entire product lifecycle, from manufacturing and distribution to disposal and recycling.
The certifications signal the company’s continued progress in reducing carbon emissions, increasing energy efficiency and scaling the use of recycled materials in consumer electronics.
Carbon Trust Recognises LG’s CO2 Reduction Efforts
LG’s OLED television models have received both “Reducing CO2” and “Measured CO2” certifications from Carbon Trust for the sixth consecutive year.
The Carbon Trust evaluates emissions across a product’s full lifecycle, including raw materials, production, usage and end-of-life processes. LG’s OLED technology — which uses self-emissive pixels instead of traditional backlighting — reduces the number of components and materials required, contributing to lower overall carbon output.
Among the certified models, the G6 series (83-, 77- and 65-inch) received the “Reducing CO2” certification. The 55-inch variant secured “Reducing CO2” certification outside Europe and “Measured CO2” certification within European markets.
Intertek Awards Resource Efficiency Certification
The 2026 TV lineup also received Resource Efficiency certifications from Intertek, a globally recognised assurance, inspection and certification body.
Eight LG TV series were evaluated based on material efficiency, energy consumption and the use of recycled content. The recognition highlights LG’s efforts to optimise resource utilisation while maintaining product performance standards.
E-Cycle Governance Recognition for Sustainable Design
For the fourth consecutive year, LG TVs have been named E-Cycle Excellent Products by E-Cycle Governance.
The certification is based on 11 criteria, including ease of recycling, reduced use of hazardous substances and product disassembly efficiency. This year, the recognition extends to LG’s lifestyle TV lineup, including the newly certified 32-inch StanbyME 2 model.
Additionally, OLED evo C series models — including the 55-, 48- and 42-inch C6 — have also received the certification.
Significant Reductions in Plastic Use and Emissions
LG estimates that its OLED TVs will reduce plastic consumption by approximately 15,000 tons and cut CO2 emissions by around 80,000 tons in 2026 compared to an equivalent number of LCD televisions.
The company has also recycled roughly 20,000 tons of end-of-life plastic over the past three years, with plans to expand recycled material use further in 2026.
During product use, select models such as the 83-inch OLED evo G6 and the 83- and 77-inch OLED evo C6 have achieved an EU Energy Label rating of D for the first time, indicating improved energy performance within their category.

The latest certifications position LG among leading global electronics manufacturers prioritising circular economy principles and climate-conscious innovation, as demand for sustainable consumer technology continues to grow.
