Glovo Academy’s 7th Edition Equips Kenyan SMBs with Digital Growth Skills

1 Mins read

Glovo has hosted the 7th edition of its Glovo Academy in Nairobi, reinforcing its commitment to empowering small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with digital tools and operational skills to scale.

The training, held on March 18, brought together entrepreneurs from across the city, focusing on strengthening their ability to compete and grow in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has played a key role in bridging knowledge gaps that often hinder SMB growth.

SMBs account for more than 85% of Glovo’s partner base, making their success central to the company’s broader strategy.

The Academy is designed to support high-potential businesses, particularly those without dedicated account managers, by offering direct engagement with Glovo’s local teams and tailored capacity-building sessions.

“With this 7th edition, we’re moving beyond basic app usage to empowering partners to lead in a digital-first market,” said Yvonne Muthoka. “We have built the Academy as a community where business owners can access growth tools, share experiences, and unlock scalable opportunities.”

A key component of the training was a hands-on session on Glovo’s Godroid platform, where participants learned to leverage real-time analytics, performance tracking, and order insights. The tools enable business owners to manage digital campaigns independently and make data-driven decisions to improve customer engagement and revenue.

The event also featured peer-to-peer learning through networking sessions, where participants exchanged best practices and drew inspiration from success stories within the platform.

Local partners say the program is already transforming how they operate. A representative from Tibbz Restaurant noted that the training has shifted their approach from reactive problem-solving to more strategic planning, improving both their digital presence and delivery efficiency.

Glovo says the Academy combines immediate operational improvements with long-term business development support, positioning SMBs for sustainable growth. The initiative also contributes to strengthening Nairobi’s food and delivery ecosystem by empowering entrepreneurs with the skills and confidence to thrive.

As digital platforms continue to reshape commerce, programs like the Glovo Academy highlight the growing importance of capacity building in unlocking the full potential of Kenya’s entrepreneurial sector.
