Glovo Launches AI Shopping Assistant for ChatGPT and Claude

Glovo has unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI)- powered Shopping Assistant that integrates with ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to discover products, compare prices, and order items through natural conversations, marking a major step in the evolution of quick-commerce.

The new feature enables customers to search for products using conversational prompts instead of navigating traditional app menus. Users can ask for specific recommendations, such as a last-minute gift within a set budget, and the AI assistant will identify relevant products from nearby stores based on location, preferences, and pricing.

Glovo said the integration introduces a new conversational commerce model that shifts online shopping from keyword-based searches to intent-driven interactions powered by generative AI.

Once users connect their Glovo accounts through either the ChatGPT or Claude applications, they can engage in multi-turn conversations where the assistant remembers preferences and constraints such as spending limits. The AI then presents up to five curated product recommendations in a visual carousel, complete with product images, prices, store details, and customer ratings.

Although the shopping journey begins within the AI platforms, customers finalise their purchases through the Glovo mobile or web application by selecting the “View on Glovo” option, where payment and order completion take place.

The company is initially focusing on retail and grocery shopping, sectors where consumers increasingly rely on AI tools to research products before making purchasing decisions.

Glovo said the move positions the company to capitalise on the growing adoption of generative AI in e-commerce, as consumers increasingly use conversational AI platforms to discover products and services.

According to the company, the launch is designed to meet customers where they already spend time while capturing high-intent traffic as online search behaviour continues to shift toward AI-powered interactions.

“We’re always looking for ways to meet our customers where they already are. Being available on Claude and ChatGPT means people can discover what Glovo has to offer as part of a natural conversation, with no friction,” said Shiro Theuri, Chief Technology Officer at Glovo.

Theuri added that Glovo has always focused on providing customers with convenience and choice, describing the AI integration as another step toward making the platform the everyday app for shopping and delivery.

The launch reflects a broader trend among technology companies integrating generative AI into digital commerce, enabling consumers to move seamlessly from product discovery to purchase through conversational interfaces rather than conventional search-based experiences.
