In a heartfelt statement, Mrs. Rahab Muiu, the National Chairperson of Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO), expressed gratitude to President William Ruto for nominating Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the new Deputy President of Kenya.

Speaking at the organization’s headquarters, Maendeleo House, Muiu emphasized the importance of this decision for the nation’s future.

“Two weeks ago, we spoke and wished the President God’s wisdom, and today we are so grateful to God because wisdom has prevailed,” Muiu stated. She underscored that the appointment was made in the best interest of the nation, highlighting the significance of strong leadership at this critical time.

Representing leaders from Eastern Kenya, Muiu conveyed their collective support for both the President and Prof. Kindiki. “On behalf of MYWO leaders in Eastern and MYWO countrywide, we say thank you to the President and congratulate Prof. Kithure Kindiki,” she remarked. Muiu acknowledged the competitive nature of the appointment, stating that while many sought the position, it ultimately went to one deserving candidate.

She urged unity among the leadership, saying, “Our prayer to our leaders is that we support Prof. Kindiki as he supports His Excellency the President.” Muiu affirmed the organization’s commitment to backing Kindiki as he steps into his new role, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for national progress.

In a compassionate note, Muiu also extended her heartfelt message to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his family during this challenging time. She expressed empathy, recognizing the emotional difficulties that accompany leadership transitions.

As the nation looks ahead, Muiu’s words reflect a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for new leadership, promoting collaboration, and emphasizing the critical role of unity in achieving national goals.
