TikTok Removes Over 580,000 Videos in Kenya to Boost Online Safety
Q3 2025 enforcement report shows a high rate of proactive content moderation and crackdown on fake accounts globally
TikTok has removed more than 580,000 videos in Kenya for violating its Community Guidelines, according to its Q3 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
The report, covering July to September 2025, outlines the platform’s efforts to strengthen user safety and improve content moderation through a combination of artificial intelligence and human oversight.
The majority of Violative Content Removed Proactively
In Kenya, 99.7 per cent of the 580,000 removed videos were taken down proactively before any user reports were made. Additionally, 94.6 per cent of the content was removed within 24 hours of being posted.
During the same period, approximately 90,000 LIVE sessions were interrupted for breaching platform rules, representing about one per cent of all LIVE streams in the country during the quarter.
Over 204 Million Videos Removed Globally
Globally, TikTok removed 204,534,932 videos in Q3 2025, accounting for roughly 0.7 per cent of all content uploaded to the platform during the period.
Of the total removed content, 99.3 per cent was taken down before being reported, while 94.8 per cent was removed within 24 hours, one of the highest rates of rapid enforcement recorded by the platform to date.
The company attributed the efficiency to continued investment in AI-driven moderation systems. A record 91 per cent of violative content was removed using automated technologies, aimed at improving speed and consistency in enforcement.
Crackdown on Fake and Underage Accounts
To safeguard platform integrity, TikTok removed more than 118 million fake accounts globally in the third quarter of 2025.
In addition, over 22 million accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13 were taken down as part of efforts to enforce age restrictions and protect minors.
The company said it combines advanced automated tools with thousands of trust and safety professionals to enforce policies against harmful content, including misinformation and hate speech.
New Time and Well-being Features Introduced
Beyond enforcement measures, TikTok introduced new digital wellness initiatives. In November, the company launched a dedicated Time and Well-being space featuring tools designed to encourage mindful technology use.
The platform also unveiled four new Well-being Missions — short interactive tasks aimed at helping users, particularly teenagers, build healthier digital habits and engage with technology more purposefully.
TikTok noted that the regular publication of its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report is part of its broader transparency commitment, offering insights into the scale and nature of content and account actions across the platform.
