1 Mins read

In a significant leap towards enhancing public service delivery, Nairobi City Hall has officially integrated Starlink satellite technology, a high-speed internet service owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The upgrade promises to deliver reliable internet speeds ranging from 120 Mbps to 200 Mbps, a vital resource for the city’s Customer Service Centre.

Tiras Njoroge, the Chief Officer of ICT Infrastructure, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative. “We are excited to announce the integration of Starlink satellite technology into our Customer Service Centre, aimed at enhancing and improving service delivery to the residents of Nairobi,” he stated.

The Starlink system is designed to provide redundancy during primary network outages, ensuring continuous connectivity even in challenging circumstances. This capability will facilitate higher data loads and enable faster processing times for residents accessing the Nairobi Pay system.

With this upgrade, Nairobi City Hall aims to significantly improve the efficiency of its services, paving the way for a more connected and responsive local government. As the city embraces advanced technology, residents can expect a more seamless experience when engaging with municipal services.
