Samsung Care+ Offers Affordable Accidental Damage Cover to Galaxy Owners in EA

Samsung has expanded access to its Care+ service plan across East Africa, giving owners of eligible Galaxy smartphones a more affordable option for repairing accidental damage, including cracked screens.

The service provides discounted screen repairs through Samsung’s authorised service network, using genuine Samsung parts and trained technicians.

Care+ is separate from Samsung’s standard 24-month warranty, which covers manufacturing defects at no charge for two years from the date of purchase.

While the warranty addresses defects, Care+ covers accidental damage arising from everyday use. The service is valid for 12 months from device activation, with customers required to register within 30 days of activating their device.

Under the plan, customers are eligible for one qualifying screen repair during the coverage period.

In Kenya, repair fees under Care+ range from KSh3,139 for selected A Series devices to KSh15,693 for Z Series devices. S Series customers pay KSh7,847, while A Series models from A32 to A73 attract a KSh3,923 repair fee.

Across the region, Z Series customers pay TZS320,689 in Tanzania, ETB19,563 in Ethiopia and UGX447,262 in Uganda. S Series fees stand at TZS160,344, ETB9,782 and UGX223,631 respectively.

For A Series devices ranging from A32 to A73, the fees are TZS80,172 in Tanzania, ETB4,891 in Ethiopia and UGX111,815 in Uganda. Selected A Series models from A14 to A27 attract TZS64,138, ETB3,913 and UGX89,452 respectively.

The subsidised repair fees could provide significant savings for customers, particularly in Kenya, where out-of-warranty screen replacements for some A and S Series devices can cost KSh15,000 to more than KSh30,000.

However, Care+ is available only for select genuine Samsung smartphones sold with an applicable 24-month warranty. Grey-import devices are excluded from the programme.

Samsung said newly launched Fold and Flip models are also not currently covered locally because they are not officially ranged in the participating markets with an applicable 24-month warranty.

Customers can register for Care+ online through Samsung’s Care+ platform by entering their device’s IMEI or serial number.

Owners of newer Galaxy smartphones running One UI 9 can also register directly from their devices. Supported models, including the Galaxy S26 FE, A08, A18, Fold8 and Flip8 series, can be registered through Settings > Warranty & Care.

For repairs and customer support, Samsung directs users to its authorised service centre network.

In Kenya, customers can also contact Samsung through its customer care line on 0800 545 545.

The expansion of Care+ comes as smartphone owners increasingly rely on their devices for work, communication, entertainment, photography and digital payments, making affordable repair options an important consideration when accidental damage occurs.
