Samsung Electronics has begun the official rollout of One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices, bringing enhanced artificial intelligence tools designed to make everyday tasks easier, more personalized and secure.
The rollout, announced on September 21, 2026, starts with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. One UI 9 had previously debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8.
The update introduces features to help users capture important moments, manage information, and get more from their devices with less effort.
Among the new tools is My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected person in a recorded video and keeps them centred as the scene changes. The feature could be particularly useful for capturing moments such as children performing at school, friends dancing or sporting events without requiring extensive manual editing.
Samsung has also introduced new Generative and Editable Cards in Now Brief, letting users personalise the information in their daily summaries. The cards can cover areas such as health, weather and video.
For device support, Warranty and Care brings services into the Settings menu, allowing users to check warranty coverage, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+ and book service appointments.
One UI 9 also expands Galaxy AI’s ability to assist users during everyday activities. Now Nudge provides context-aware suggestions, such as helping users access reservation details or save a shared location while they are messaging.
Meanwhile, Creative Studio can suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming occasions. For example, users may receive prompts to create personalised birthday images or greetings for friends and family.
The update also improves communication through Interpreter, which now includes a Thread View that allows users to refer to earlier parts of translated conversations. Faster translation in Conversation Mode and quicker playback with compatible Galaxy Buds are also designed to make conversations more seamless.
For students, professionals and other users handling documents, Document Scan can digitise challenging materials such as curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment. Voice Recorder has also been updated to present summaries in a more structured format, including headings and tables.
Security and privacy receive additional attention through Security Brief, which brings alerts about issues such as malware, unknown-source applications and unnecessary permissions into Now Brief.
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts to access permissions in the background. Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection to additional countries and languages, protecting potential scam calls in supported markets.
The wider One UI 9 rollout is expected to bring these features to more compatible Galaxy devices, depending on device model and market availability.
