Prudential Life Kenya has unveiled a Ksh.10 million sponsorship for the 5KM Family Run at this year’s Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.

The insurer will also serve as the official life insurer of the day, ensuring runners feel confident and protected throughout their race so they can focus on crossing the finish line.

This year’s support marks the third consecutive sponsorship of the family race by Prudential, reaffirming its dedication to health, protection, and strengthening community resilience.

“We chose to sponsor the Family Run because it aligns with our vision of promoting healthier lifestyles through active living.

The 5KM run goes beyond being a race—it allows parents, children, and loved ones to run side by side, making it a true celebration of family and community,” said Prudential Kenya CEO Gwen Kinisu. “It is also an opportunity to support the remarkable work being carried out through Futuremakers, an initiative of Standard Chartered Bank.”

Joyce Kibe, Standard Chartered’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing for Kenya and Africa, lauded the gesture: “This financial sponsorship from Prudential Life for the 5KM Family Fun Run will go a long way in executing the marathon and enhancing family wellness through active living, while also providing comprehensive insurance coverage for participants.

With Ksh.130 million invested by the Bank towards the event, we are excited to create a memorable race experience that will expand social impact in communities we work with and contribute positively to the economy.”

Futuremakers is Standard Chartered’s global program that empowers youth with skills and opportunities for brighter futures. So far, it has equipped 90,679 girls with life skills through sport, supported more than 54,000 youth with employability and entrepreneurship training, and created 1,380 jobs through supported enterprises.

Slated for 26th October 2025, the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon remains Kenya’s largest single-day sporting event, drawing professional athletes, fitness lovers, and families nationwide.
