Global communications partnership PROI Worldwide has announced the addition of Engage Communications Limited, a Nairobi-based public relations and marketing agency, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in East Africa.
Headquartered in Chicago, PROI Worldwide is the world’s largest partnership of independent communications agencies. The inclusion of Engage Communications is expected to strengthen the network’s capabilities across Africa while enhancing collaboration among agencies within its global partnership.
Engage Communications Strengthens Regional Reach
Founded in 2013 by experienced public relations practitioners, Engage Communications has grown into one of Kenya’s leading PR and communications agencies. Headquartered in Nairobi, the firm employs 21 full-time professionals and delivers integrated communications campaigns across East Africa.
The agency operates in several regional markets including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and Rwanda, while also coordinating pan-African campaigns spanning up to 21 countries. Its approach focuses on central strategy and creative development supported by localized market execution.
PROI Leadership Praises Engage’s Market Expertise
According to Angela Scaffidi, Global Chair of PROI Worldwide, Engage’s entry into the network brings valuable regional expertise.
“Engage’s entrepreneurial energy, creative excellence and deep understanding of the East African markets make them an outstanding addition to our global partnership,” she said.
Scaffidi noted that the agency’s award-winning campaigns, strong financial services portfolio and growing capabilities in influencer marketing align with PROI’s commitment to innovation and collaboration.
Engage Sees Opportunity for Global Collaboration
Desiree Gomes, Managing Partner of Engage Communications, described the partnership as a major milestone for the agency.
“Joining PROI Worldwide is a significant milestone for Engage. We are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with leading independent agencies across the globe, share credentials, participate in joint pitches and grow alongside partners who value entrepreneurship and innovation,” she said.
Gomes added that the partnership would provide Engage’s clients with expanded global reach and access to communications expertise in markets beyond East Africa.
Broad Service Offering and Strong Client Portfolio
Engage Communications offers a wide range of services including corporate reputation management, influencer relations, media relations, crisis and issues management, digital marketing, public affairs, social media management, event management, as well as research and analytics.
The agency serves clients across sectors such as financial services, government, NGOs and consumer brands. Its client portfolio includes The National Treasury of Kenya, Mastercard Foundation, Majid Al Futtaim’s Carrefour, Glovo, Britam, and Coca-Cola.

Engage Communications has also received several industry recognitions. In 2024, the agency won a SABRE Awards for its #GalaxyintheSky campaign executed with Samsung and Jambojet, while also earning multiple honors at the Public Relations Society of Kenya Awards for innovative new media campaigns.
The agency is also among the finalists for the 2026 SABRE Awards, further highlighting its growing influence in Africa’s communications and public relations industry.
