President William Ruto has wrapped up his four-day State Visit to China with a visit to leading research institutions and cultural heritage sites in Fujian Province, located along the country’s southeast coast.

On the final day of his tour, President Ruto visited the headquarters of Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited (CATL) in Ningde City, a global leader in the manufacture of electric vehicle batteries. He lauded the company’s remarkable growth over the past decade, highlighting its contribution to advancing clean energy technologies.

“The strides CATL has made in electric vehicle battery production are not only impressive but offer important lessons for Kenya’s own transition to green energy,” President Ruto remarked during the visit.

Later, the President toured the Ningde Poverty Alleviation Exhibition Hall, a model initiative aimed at showcasing effective strategies for reducing poverty. The exhibition commemorates the 30th Anniversary of Xi Jinping’s “Vision 3820” Strategic Plan for Fuzhou City, which laid the foundation for the region’s impressive socio-economic transformation.

President Ruto’s visit is seen as a move to strengthen Kenya-China relations, with a focus on technological cooperation, poverty eradication strategies, and cultural exchange.
