Nark-Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua declared that the government of President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua stands “impeached” by the Kenyan people. This proclamation followed a series of public participation exercises across various constituencies aimed at voicing dissatisfaction with the current administration.

Karua praised the unity demonstrated by Kenyans from all walks of life, who rallied to express their grievances regarding the government’s alleged failures and constitutional violations. “Today, we stand at a historic juncture, accusing the Ruto administration of neglecting its constitutional duties and assaulting the foundational pillars of the Republic,” She stated

The Nark-Kenya Leader accused Ruto of human rights violations , highlighting the ongoing incidents of killings of unarmed protesters, arbitrary arrests, and disobedience of court orders as evidence of a government that has lost its moral compass.

According to Karua, KK regime has failed economically with approval of controversial deals with the Adani Group, which she claims mortgage the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for thirty years without public consultation, was characterized as economic sabotage.

Additionally she condemned the healthcare crisis , the Social Healthcare Insurance Fund (SHIF) is an “opaque, cartel-infested system” that undermines access to quality healthcare, violating Article 43 of the Constitution.

On food sovereignty threats she condemned the Proposed agriculture bills aimed at criminalizing indigenous farming practices which she called a direct attack on the nation’s food security and sovereignty.

On matter of environmental degradation, concerns were raised about opaque concessions made with foreign companies that threaten the environment and the well-being of local communities across various counties.

In light of these allegations, Karua stated that it is not only a right but a constitutional duty for the people to hold the government accountable. She emphasized that impeachment is a serious matter but necessary when the leadership undermines the Constitution and the welfare of citizens.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Karua acknowledged that the impeachment motion would not be presented in Parliament, which she claims has been rendered ineffective by the will of the people since June 25. Instead, she called upon the “collective conscience of Kenya” to recognize the injustices and push for a change in leadership.

Karua appealed to Kenyans to rise together in pursuit of justice, urging that the strength of the nation lies not in its leaders but in the courage of its citizens. “Let this motion serve as a catalyst that stirs us from complacency to action,” she declared.

As political tensions continue to rise, the implications of Karua’s statements and the growing public discontent signal a potentially significant shift in Kenya’s political landscape, raising questions about the future of Ruto’s administration and its ability to address the concerns of its citizens.
